EO3/Yggdroid/Subclasses

From Etrian Odyssey Wiki
< EO3

This page has information about subclasses for the Yggdroid class in Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City.

The information on this page is subjective and is an informational guide rather than factual advice

Arbalist

  • Invest in Proper Form to reduce the odds of your attacks missing due to the Yggdroid's low Agility.
  • Double Action can work with HP Cannon to improve its damage output per turn.
  • Use an elemental Barrage skill with a matching Bot to get supplementary elemental damage on groups of enemies.

Buccaneer

Yggdroid/Buccaneer can be built to make the most of normal attacks and optimizing critical hits. As your main offenses will not consume TP, you can afford to go about without needing to self-bind to regenerate TP for most part.

  • Lady Luck passively increases your critical rate to complement Data Mining.
  • Swashbuckling gives chances of additional normal attacks and more chances of landing critical hits. If using a weapon with an elemental forge, pair with a bot of the matching color to maximize the number of follow-up attacks in one turn. Avoid combining with Overheat as each extra normal attack will drain more HP.
  • Gun-based elemental Chase skills can be combined with a bot of the matching color, triggering two follow-up attacks for each matching elemental attack from your other party members. Bear in mind that follow-up attacks from either your Chaser or the Bot will not trigger each other.

Farmer

Gladiator

The quintessential physical damage class complements the Yggdroid's stat spread well, creating a combatant that's sturdier than a Gladiator.

  • Overheat and Berserker Vow makes for a powerful offensive combination but also puts the Yggdroid dangerously close to death. Ensure they are well-defended before doing this.
  • Freezing Blow combos with Blue Bot for additional ice damage.
  • The ailment immunity from White Flame combos with the Yggdroid's innate bind immunity to make it almost impossible to shut down.

Hoplite

Yggdroid/Hoplites make the most of the Yggdroid's natural durability. Their innate bind immunity and great resistance to ailments make them very hard to shut down. You may want to bind their head first to allow the TP regeneration to set in and offset the guard skill costs.

  • Put a point in Spear Mastery to give the Yggdroid a better weapon to use when they have an opening to attack.

Monk

Yggdroid/Monks have the innate STR to make the most of their attack skills. Their lack of weapon proficiency is also remedied with Fist Mastery.

Ninja

Prince/Princess

Wildling

Zodiac

  • Etheric Charge and Singularity can boost the damage done by Shoot if you hit an elemental weakness. You must have two or fewer colors of bots deployed for these skills to work with Shoot; as a three-color Shoot is almighty no longer benefits from the above skills.
