Legend has it that the remnants of humanity retreated to this floating castle when the Calamity struck, only returning to the land once it became habitable again, with the castle vanishing into myth through the passage of time. The Heavenly Keep is one of these floating castles, and host of the fabled Holy Grail that is said to cure any disease. This place contains extremely advanced technology, seemingly originating from a bygone era.

Here the Overlord makes his final stand. Unwilling to let the explorers take the fabled artifact, he rallies his army against them, leaded by the immensely powerful Colossus. On his throne room atop the fortress, he awaits the challengers for a fierce final battle with the Holy Grail as the ultimate prize.

In the cold, white night

High Lagaard's winters are harsh, and we must be ready. Help us prepare for the coming season.

Unlock: 21F, complete "Passing down the skills"

Reward: Flame Jar

Gather 3 Crabapples (from killing Nozuchi on 22F), 3 Arc Branches, and 2 Bloom Woods (both from chopping in the 4th Stratum).

The courageous Knight

I have an extra Rook and a Bishop! I'll trade them for a Knight.

Unlock: 21F, complete "the wise King"

Reward: Curse Gas

Cass advises you to speak to the townsfolk for where you can source the Knight. Speak to Minister Dubois , who tells you the guard with the Knight dropped it in the Labyrinth, and it's probably already been picked up. Return to 20F, where you fought Harpuia, and Canaan will be there.

Speak with him with a level 20+ Landsknecht in the party, and you can dine with him for healing to a random party member. You'll notice he has the chess pieces, and he'll trade your King (from the previous quest) for his Knight and Pawn. After you turn in this quest, you should have a Rook, Bishop, and Pawn.

Nupital preparations

My father won't come out of the Labyrinth. I want his approval before I marry... Please ask him for me.

Unlock: 22F

Reward: 15,000en

The guard you seek wanders around 21F.

• From midnight to 7AM, he can be found at sector B-3, just before the long westward conveyor.
• From 8AM to 5PM, he can be found at sector E-5, just before the westward conveyor.
• From 5PM to midnight, he can be found at sector D-4.

Tell him "No" when he asks if his son is seeking his approval, or he will wander off to another of his possible locations. You get the Blue Beads that are needed to complete the quest.

Healing innovations

A newly discovered item from the Labyrinth has very useful effects. Collect more to assist our research.

Unlock: 22F, complete "Volunteer service II"

Reward: Nectar II

Speak to Dr. Stiles, then obtain 2 Life Honey (take points in the 5th Stratum) and 1 True Shard (from killing Armormen or Stir Eyes).

Outpatient treatment

At last, we have backing from the Nothern Academy. We need your help to spray the dying trees.

Unlock: 22F, complete "Rescue operation"

Reward: Bravant

Speak to Dr. Stiles and Angie at the hospital. You now have to travel into the Labyrinth and apply the salve to the withering trees. Taking a step with a dead party member will fail this quest, so you still have a small window to revive the fallen before continuing your expedition. You can use Warp Wires/Ariadne Threads in between each checkpoint, up till the final one.

Travel to 2F B-2 (room with chest), 6F B-6 dead end, 9F E-5 (near the stairs), and 13F D-4 dead end. The last spot you visit triggers a fight with the Invader quest FOE. From this point on, you must return to town without using a Warp Wire/Ariadne Thread. Escort Angie back to town to complete the quest.

A girl's best friend

A noblewoman has just given birth to a timid baby girl. Help find a pet for the infant child.

Unlock: 23F, complete "In the cold, white night"

Reward: State Wall

Bring a level 2 or higher Beast to the bar. If it is level 27-49, you get a bonus 2000en. If it is level 50 or higher, your bonus increases to 4000en.

Strength of the traveler

We found a mysterious sapling on the 23rd floor, but we're not strong enough to return. Can anyone help?

Reward: Hamao II

Find the sapling on 23F, sector E-2, on the west edge of the map. Do so after you've beaten the Colossus so that you don't have to contend with the FOEs in the vicinity. You can also partake in one of the fruits to heal 200HP to one party member.

Rendering assistance

There are unexplored areas in the floating castle. We would like you to investigate them.

Reward: Antivenin

Speak to Minister Dubois , who will point out the unmapped eastmost and westmost sides of 22F. You can only reach those areas from the stairs in the northwest corner of 24F, but you will be traversing them while trying to reach 25F anyway. You need to clearly map out about 75% of those areas before the quest can be turned in.

The labyrinth's blessing

This drought is starting to damage our crops. We want someone to visit the sky shrine and leave an offering.

Bring the Rain Twig to 25F E-1. Interact with the wall to place the Twig.

Leaves filtering the light

Yggdrasil's branches need trimming again so we can get some sunlight. Can you go and cut a few?

You're given four Tree Tonics asked to cut some branches on 4 different floors: 5F A-5; 10F B-1; 13F D-7; 19F F-3. There are also wrong tiles that can fail the quest.

Task for the tracker

The guildmaster dropped something precious while in the Labyrinth. Can yer beast pick up its scent?

With a Beast in your party, go to 24F F-3 and defeat the Tortevil to find the Eagle Mark' brooch. Bring this brooch to Marion in the Explorers Guild.

Easing the pain

The hospital would like you to gather medical ingredients to cure the innkeeper's daughter.

Unlock: 24F, complete "An outing in the forest"

Reward: Antivenin

Speak to Dr. Stiles to learn of Quona's illness. Bring him 2 Black Cores (from King Gels), 2 Shine Rocks (from mining in the 5th Stratum), and 4 Life Honeys (from take points in the 5th Stratum). Get the Herb Tonic and deliver it to Flaus Inn.

The opposing one

Would you like to trade my King for a Rook and Coal Skull?

Unlock: 24F, complete "The courageous Knight"

Reward: Amrita II (game erroneously lists Amrita)

Coal Skulls are obtained by killing Ebonwings on 22F with non-physical attacks. After completing the quest, you should have a King, Bishop, and Pawn.

An inquisitive child

My husband had some items from the Labyrinth in Etria. Please get rid of them without my son noticing.

Unlock: 25F

Reward: Medica IV

You get a Grey Relic and must get rid of it. It can be sold for 500en, but you can also leave it at various points in 25F instead. Leaving it at the pedestal in sector D-6 gets you an Odd Vellum, in addition to a bonus 8000en upon completion of the quest. Any other location gets a lesser bonus of 2000en without the Odd Vellum.

The Odd Vellum will also trigger additional dialogue from Cass that is a big clue to what this Relic is.

Test of strength

On Founding Day, we hold a tournament for the bravest explorers. Sign up and prove your bravery!

Unlock: 25F, complete "Explorers! Heroes! Caterers!"

Reward: 5000-20,000en

Enter 23F by 5AM to start the tournament. You need to kill the FOEs in the stratum before 6PM to improve your reward. The Colossus also counts towards this. The rewards change based on how many you've killed:

• None: 5000en
• 1 to 7: 15,000en
• 8 or more: 20,000en

Beyond the depths

There's a piece of equipment I want. I would like you to bring it to me.

Unlock: 25F, complete "The value of knowledge"

Reward: Hamao II

This comes from the animal expert in 18F. He'll ask for a Tormentor (whip). Unlock it by selling 10 Pure Shells (from killing Defenders) and 3 Gum Strings (from take points on the 5th Stratum). He speaks of the Huelord which will have the monster's offspring.

The second grail

We got a letter addressed to [guild]. Talk to me as soon as yeh see this.

Unlock: 25F, complete "Rendering assistance"

Reward: Soma II

Speak to Minister Dubois who will speak of the Foul Grail that is a foil to the Holy Grail. You'll be given the Gold Shard that must be delivered to the center of 25F sector D-4, just before the door to the Overlord.
