The Deep City is a major location in Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City that is visited at the midpoint in the game.

History

The Deep City is the section of Armoroad lost to the waves when the Calamity struck 100 years ago, though this was not from a natural disaster. Armoroad's former ruler, Seyfried, communed with the Yggdrasil at the center of Armoroad, and learned of the Deep Ones from far beneath the ocean's waters that threatened mankind should they make their way to the surface. Thus, he formed a pact with it, gaining incredible technology in exchange for taking up the duty of defending humanity from the Deep Ones. Seyfried then sunk himself with a portion of Armoroad, forming the Deep City as seen and gaining an unaging mechanical body to continue his duties defending humanity from the Deep Ones. Seyfried also constructed Olympia as his closest servant and gave her orders to keep the Deep City's location concealed, and enlisted the aid of Ketos as gatekeeper to the City.

Locations

Twinkling Tavern

Run by Angie, who tends to the wounds of fallen explorers that Olympia would recover from the labyrinth, before sending them back to the surface. Restore your party's HP and TP here at a price while also causing time to pass. You can also revive fallen party members here or manage your stored items. Item storage is shared with Aman's Inn.

Napier's Branch

Managed by Napier's sister, after she is escorted to the Deep City upon its discovery. Sell the spoils of your expeditions here to buy weapons, armor, accessories, or items. You can also upgrade your weapons here. The shop inventory is the same as Napier's Firm on the surface.

Celestial Palace

Report to King Seyfried for missions here, and set your subclasses here.

Forest Entrance

Commence your expeditions into the Labyrinth here. This is where you first enter the Molten Caves.
